A motorist from Prince George came to the rescue Monday morning when a van with mom, dad and baby went over a 40-foot embankment on Highway 5 south of Mount Paul Road.
The Prince George man saw the crash at 10:35 a.m. and immediately pulled over to scale the bank and render first aid, Kamloops RCMP said.
The family got out the van, which was resting on the passenger side, through the back hatch. Firefighters ran a rope down the side and got the three up to an ambulance for transport to Royal Inland Hospital.
The adults suffered whiplash injuries and the two-year-old child suffered a bump to the head.
