The police called it "a very very slow speed pursuit."
Kamloops RCMP were called to Ridgeview Lodge on Desmond Street at 4:40 a.m. Monday after a 70-year-old resident took off on an electric scooter.
"The staff was concerned that the man was not dressed appropriately for the prevailing weather and believed that he may suffering from the onset of a degenerative mental functioning," Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said.
"Based on the numerous sets of tracks on the snow he appeared to basically have been doing laps around the block.
"The officer reported that the man was subsequently corralled and brought to a stop after what he described as a very very slow speed pursuit."
The man was co-operative and returned to the lodge on the scooter without incident.
