Kamloops United Church officially opens Phase 1 its downtown redevelopment on Jan. 24 with a public ceremony.
The first phase saw services and programs relocated while a new hall, kitchen and programming space were created.
Once that's finished, work will start on the second phase — affordable housing, administrative space and a thrift shop.
In January 2012, the Aviva Community Fund awarded $80,000 for a new kitchen and equipment.
