Regarding Coun. Donovan Cavers’ column (Will Ajax be Lost in Election Politics?, The Daily News, Jan. 7).
The political delay in coming to a decision on the proposed Ajax mine is troubling to many, especially to those who will be in the direct path of any potential development. My friends in Pineview Valley are disturbed by a possible gargantuan rock dump next door. They are waiting for a bit more information on the proposed Aberdeen mine. Then they will decide their future — stay or move from Kamloops.
Others have already chosen. Fifteen single family homes have been for sale in Pineview Valley for some time.
I offer this as proof that some of us Kamloopsians are taking the threat of a mine in our city seriously and carefully weighing our options.
