    Students work hard for environment

We are a Grade 4 class at Bert Edwards Science and Technology School and we are entering the B.C. Green Games. We want to stop pollution and help the environment.

Our project is to clean up the beach by the North Thompson River between Windsor and York streets. We are writing this letter to ask people to pick up after their dogs, and not litter.

All garbage should go into garbage cans and dog owners need to be responsible for their dogs. We want clean water to swim in. We also want clean snow to play in this winter.

We, as a class, went down to the river and picked up 16 kg of garbage between Windsor and York streets.

Garbage in the river can kill fish and harm other animals.

With all the pollution it will be hard for the plants to grow.
