    Sports Briefs: Cave's OT buzzer-beater wins it for Saints

    Ryan Cave hit a three-point shot from mid-court to give the visiting Norkam Saints an 88-87 double-overtime victory over the South Kamloops Titans in an Okanagan AAA senior  boys high school basketball game on Tuesday.

    Cave made an underhanded attempt from centre court that went through the hoop with 1.3 seconds left in the second overtime period.

    Jeremy Bosher lead the Saints with 21 points, while Kyle Corich added 17.

    Jacob Adams had 38 points — he was 19 of 23 from the free-throw line — and 10 rebounds. Tye Desrosiers added 27 points and 15 rebounds.

    The Titans now are off to Pitt Meadows for the AAA Air Show Classic. They open today against the Coquitlam-Gleneagle Talons.

    Liam Robertson struck for three goals Tuesday night, helping the Big Guns Energy Warriors skate to an 8-2 Kamloops Minor Hockey Association victory over the  Jani King Stars in a midget recreational game.

    Jake Schindel, Allan Testawich, Anthony Jacobs, Cole Walters and Jonathan Freeman also scored in support of goaltender Nic Bernier. The winners also got two assists from Jacobs.

    Shaymus and Dallas Stachoski scored for the Stars, who split their goaltending between Robin Proust and Cole Loring.
