A state-of-the-art sign providing motorists travelling east from Kamloops with updated road and weather information is now operational.
Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger said construction started in December and the sign was completed and working by Friday.
It replaces the aged sign over the Trans-Canada Highway in Valleyview that used old lighting and communications technology. Krueger said the new sign was installed as part of the highway-widening project from Monte Creek to Pritchard.
The sign cost about $200,000 and was installed by Westcana Electric Inc.
