I read your column (Time To Ban Semi-Autos, The Daily News, Jan. 12)  and was shocked at your flawed logic.

It’s hard to even call it logic. You think that firearms kill things?  I suppose you think knives, baseball bats and tire irons kill people as well.

Using your logic we should ban all aircraft because it was aircraft that flew into the World Trade Center and killed more than 3,000 people.

Maybe you will understand what I am talking about if I put it into a scenario that you can comprehend. You have an infection, you go to the doctor and he checks you out.  He finds that you have a fever and he treats the fever. A week later you die of the infection, the cause of the fever. Do you get the picture?

Firearms have never killed anything! As a matter of fact I can prove it to you!

Grab your .270 and load it with live ammunition. Put the rifle cocked and ready to fire on your kitchen table.

Take cover because any moment it will begin shooting. Twenty years from now when you get the courage to crawl out of your hiding place the gun will still be sitting there ready to shoot!

Firearms do not kill people! People kill people! Blaming the tool that someone used to perpetrate a crime is insane and not a solution.

Find the root cause of the violence in society and treat that, then maybe you can start to make a difference.

You jump on the bandwagon pumping up the fear and misinformation about firearms and expect clear thinking freedom loving people to give up their rights.

Do you really think that criminals will turn in their semi-automatics? Give your head a shake! There is a total gun ban in Mexico — hear of anyone being shot there lately?

Wake up, stop your BS and give readers real information and real statistics about firearms.
