Rollover one of three morning crashes

A Chrysler 300 went perpendicular against a rock wall Monday at about 9:30 a.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway near Costco.

There were no serious injuries, but a woman had to be pulled out.

"The vehicle had gone off the road in a rather unusual position and a woman was trapped inside the vehicle suspended by her seatbelt," Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said.

A witness said the driver of a car in the inside lane lost control and hit the Chrysler in the outside lane, causing it to flip into the ditch.

The driver who lost control may have hit an icy patch, the witness said.

Learned said ice was likely a factor in this and two other accidents Monday morning.

Within minutes of each other at about 9 a.m., there was a T-bone crash in the 1700 block of Valleyview Drive and a vehicle in the ditch at Hugh Allan and Versatile. In the second accident, a person was trapped inside but was pulled out safely and there were no major injuries.
