TRU gets a new lead for marketing and communications

The latest addition to Thompson Rivers University will dedicate herself to recruitment, research and fundraising activities.

Lucille Gnanasihamany will be TRU’s associate vice-president of marketing and communications starting Feb. 1. She was appointed after a national search.

University spokeswoman Diana Skoglund said Gnanasihamany will take over the lead on marketing and communications from vice-president of advancement Christopher Seguin.

Seguin will focus his duties on advancement, which deals with the TRU Foundation and alumni, said Skoglund.

    “We’re pretty excited,” she said.

Gnanasihamany comes to TRU from Mount Royal University in Calgary, where she served as the director of marketing for the last six years.

Prior to that she was senior consultant marketing and business development with AON Consulting where she was responsible for activities in western and central Canada. She’s also held senior positions involved with communications, promotions and writing.
