Don't look a mine gift horse in the mouth

Just a note on the great letter from the Miner, I grew up in a mining town, a beautiful one, a lot of people do not realize how great this is for Kamloops. Our young people are leaving to find jobs up north and leaving the province because they cannot make the same money in the area.

Mines don't smell like pulp mills do, (not trying to bash the mill) and you can have as pretty town as you want but if there are no jobs eventually the young people leave to make a good living and you end up with a ghost town.

There are not many jobs around that pay the money the mines do and that is not even taking into account the benefit packages for their employees. I am thinking a lot of these people complaining must be retired, I find it almost an insult they would talk about mining the way they do, Mining put food in my mouth and a roof over my head my whole life.

My advice, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, the money the miners make will be spent in our local communities. Everyone benefits.
