Police are looking for witnesses to a crash that took place Jan. 4 at 8:35 a.m. on Highway 1 about one kilometre east of the Peterson Creek bridge.
The driver of a red Toyota was headed east following a line of three cars, doing about 80 km/h on an extremely icy road, Kamloops RCMP said.
A truck started to pass the Toyota, then suddenly veered into the car's lane. The driver of the truck lost control, forcing the driver of the Toyota to take evasive action to avoid other vehicles.
The Toyota slid and struck a light standard on the highway shoulder, then went down a five-metre embankment before winding up in the ditch.
The airbag deployed, causing injuries to the driver's neck. Her vehicle was totalled.
Police are looking for anyone who saw what happened in the lead-up to the crash, and hope to identify the truck. Call the Kamloops Rural RCMP detachment.
