Police track man with history of violence

Federal parolee has gone missing from Kamloops facility

    Andrew Robert Hardenstine

Police are on the hunt for 33-year-old Andrew Robert Hardenstine — a federal parolee unlawfully at large from a community-based residential facility in Kamloops. He's been gone since Jan. 14.

Hardenstine was serving a three-year, eight-month sentence on two convictions for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and a weapons related offence when he was released on parole in early January, Kamloops RCMP said.

Hardenstine is five feet nine inches and weighs about 200 pounds. He has a shaved head (brown hair) and blue eyes. The top of his left ring finger and left little finger are amputated and he has a full "sleeve" tattoo on his left and right arm.

Police believe he went to the Grand Forks area or the Lower Mainland, where he is known to have associates in the drug subculture.

Hardenstine's lengthy criminal record includes incidents of violence, police said. The public is warned not to approach him.

Anyone with information is asked to call local police or Crime Stoppers.
