Air quality must be a consideration

How many people noticed last week the poor air quality in Kamloops? It was suggested that the people with asthma or breathing problems, as well as the elderly, and those with poor health stay indoors.

If Ajax starts mining this would be the case every time there was an inversion or poor weather conditions. Kamloops doesn’t need more pollution.

The hospital is overcrowded and there’s rarely any parking. Doctors are threatening to leave if the mine comes into Kamloops and adds to our pollution changing this town forever.

We should look at our poor air quality and figure out if we want more pollution before it’s too late. Property values most likely will be affected by the mine.

It would be difficult to relocate if property owners lose too much equity in their homes. Air quality and location near the mine may be a factor in buying or selling your home.

The citizens of Kamloops must take time to understand what the mine will bring to Kamloops. Yes, they will bring some jobs, but they will take a lot of things away from our community.
