Heirloom watch could be forfeited if not claimed

An expensive watch has been sitting at the police station since September, and if no one claims it soon, it may never be returned to its owner.

The men's silver Guess watch was found in the Jamieson Creek area and turned in to Kamloops RCMP.

It bears a unique, personal inscription on the back that makes reference to the father who received it as a gift.

"To date, no one has reported the watch as stolen or missing and no inquiries have been made with police regarding the property," Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said.

"The watch will soon be forfeited for disposition by way of public auction and the Kamloops RCMP would like to reunite this apparent heirloom with the rightful owner."

To claim the watch, you must be able to provide police with the words inscribed on the back.
