Thompson Rivers University's student union will add two more political representatives to its March election ballot after a vote Thursday.
The student union executive recommended a measure that would add two representatives: one for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer) students and one for graduate students.
The measure was expected to pass but required a minimum of 50 students to show up to an annual general meeting.
A total of 136 students showed up.
"Students overwhelmingly came out to support our proposal last night," said TRUSU president Dustin McIntyre.
The two new advocacy students join those already on the council representing women, aboriginal and international students.
