The head of the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission is headed to Berlin for the premiere of the movie Gold.
Vicci Weller will attend a screening of the movie, which shot in the region last summer, at the Berlin Film Festival Feb. 9.
A German production, Gold takes place during the height of the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898. About $500,000 of the film’s $2.5-million budget went into the Thompson-Nicola Regional District economy.
Kamloops-based artist-turned-actor Ken Wells stars in Gold alongside German actors Nina Hoss, Marko Mandic, Uwe Bohn and Peter Kurth.
