New North Shore BIA head starts Monday

The former head of the Vancouver’s West End Business Improvement Association will helm the North Shore BIA.

Lyn Hellyar takes over as general manager on Monday. The position was previously held by Peter Mutrie.

She comes to the NSBIA with 15 years of non-profit experience, including nine as executive director of the West End BIA.

Neither Hellyar nor North Shore BIA president Lynda Douglas could be reached. In a press release, Douglas said Hellyar has been active on the Business Improvement Association B.C. board and is considered an expert on board governance.

Hellyar’s history in community service shows her commitment to creating vibrant, connected and thriving business communities, said Douglas.

A meet and greet is scheduled prior to the BIA’s annual general meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12. The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on Tranquille Road.

The AGM begins at 6 p.m.
