17-year-old issued ticket after crash on Columbia

A 17-year-old was issued a ticket Monday evening after an accident at Columbia Street West and McGill Road, police said.

A vehicle heading north on Columbia made a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle that had the right of way. The crash resulted in front-end damage to both vehicles and they were towed away from the scene.

The driver of the vehicle with the right of way — a 50-year-old woman — was taken to hospital with head, neck and back injuries.

The 17-year-old girl driving the other car was fined $167 for failing to yield on a left turn.
