The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is increasing its education programs in Kamloops.
To help local families, the society hosts two free workshops later this month.
“The journey with dementia poses many challenges, and having an understanding of what you are facing, and reliable information about the types of help available to you, will make a difference,” said Tara Hildebrand, support and education co-ordinator.
The first workshop, for family caregivers, runs on Feb. 16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and provides practical coping strategies.
The second workshop, Heads Up: An Introduction to Brain Health, takes place Feb. 20, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Both workshops will be held at the society’s resource centre, 405-235 First Ave. Pre-registration is required. Call 250-377-8200 or email thildebrand@alzheimerbc.org.
