Police seized $53,540 in cash, along with the vehicle it was in, during a road check near Clearwater earlier this week.
A small amount of marijuana and steroids were also seized on Tuesday, Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said Friday in a press release.
Officers pulled over a Jeep Compass SUV with two women in it at about 4 p.m. They searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana.
The cash in Canadian currency was found in a paper bag in one of the suitcases in the back seat. Also found were five grams of marijuana, 180 doses of Turinabol steroids and 60 doses of Anavar steroids.
The vehicle was seized as offence-related property.
"It was learnt that the pair were coming from Edmonton and were returning home to the Cobble Hill area (on Vancouver Island)," Moskaluk said.
The two woman, in their mid-20s, will appear May 2 in Kamloops court. Police are recommending the following charges:
* Property obtained by crime.
* Possession of a controlled substance.
* Obstruction (one of them provided a false name)
* Notice of driving prohibition
