Two men holding a shotgun and handgun confronted a half dozen people as they sunned themselves on a rooming house deck Sunday morning.
The five individuals who were not residents of the building ran and the sixth returned to his room.
There, he was held at gunpoint as the gunmen demanded to know the whereabouts of another man. They then left the area.
Meanwhile, one man who fled went to the Henry Leland House addiction recovery facility and asked a staff member to call police.
At 11:20 a.m., RCMP were called to the building on the 400 block of St. Paul Street.
Investigators "met with varying levels of co-operation" as they located and questioned the witnesses, according to a RCMP news release.
The first suspect, the shorter of the two, was described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old with dark hair, a medium build and pock marked facial skin. He was wearing a blue hoody, a black hat and was sporting a pair of sun glasses. He had a camouflage tactical belt loaded with shot gun ammunition around his waist.
The second, taller suspect was described as a thinly built native male with light coloured skin, possibly Métis, 30 to 40 years old with long black hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a grey hoody, camouflage pants and boots.
