    Transit drivers do good work

A special thanks to the transit bus drivers in Kamloops — they get you to your destination safely and deal with the public, which is not always easy.

Teenagers have little respect for themselves let alone adults. The schedule is very tight — for example, leave Lansdowne Village to Westsyde and return in one hour.

Having to stop for passengers with children and strollers, wheelchairs, elderly riders that need the bus lowered, bicycles that need to be secured on front, letting off the same.

Try to get back on the traveled part of the road to their next stop. If they accomplish this in less than one hour, they may use the washroom. The only time allotted for a bathroom, coffee or lunch break.

So if your driver seems a little grumpy, it is just a reflection of some of the public. They have never received a bonus for their effort to ensure the ridership is kept up to the standard the City wants to accomplish.

Without their effort this could not be possible. Postings on YouTube show only a sample of what they have to endure every day from some of the distraught traveling public.
