Council allows woman to acquire third dog

Patience and proper procedure paid off for a North Kamloops resident when she won approval for a variance allowing her to acquire a third dog.

Council approved Tosha Moen’s request on Tuesday by a vote of six to three.

Moen sought a variance in the Dog Responsibility and Control Bylaw because her eldest dog is no longer capable of accompanying her on outdoor trips and her younger dog is too timid to rely upon solely. Without a variance, residents are restricted to two dogs.

“I do know this is not an easy issue and I’m prepared to work with the City,” Moen said.
