Deaths in West Kelowna crash treated as homicide

Two people were found dead in a black SUV that crashed at an apartment complex Monday night in West Kelowna, but police say it wasn't the crash that killed them.

"The deaths have been confirmed as criminal in nature and are being classified as homicide deaths," said RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

The crash took place at about 11 p.m. at the Terra Vita condominiums in the 2700 block of Auburn Road. The SUV had collided with a parking lot entrance light standard.

Witnesses told police a man was seen fleeing from the scene.
