City approves expansion for Moly-Cop in Campbell Creek

Council approved a development permit application on Tuesday, enabling a Kamloops manufacturer to expand and add 35 additional jobs.

Moly-Cop Canada, at the corner of Andover Crescent and Dallas Drive in the Campbell Creek industrial park, wants to add a two-storey, 3,600-square-metre industrial building on an adjacent parcel of land.

Moly-Cop supplies grinding media to mining and plans to double its production capacity to serve the growing needs of the industry in the region. The company currently employs 56 people and has been planning expansion for the past year on the adjoining property.

“Thirty-five new jobs in town is a pretty big hit for us,” said Coun. Arjun Singh, signaling his support.

    The application received unanimous approval.
