A new advocacy group in town is looking for more members.
Kamloops Moms for Clean Air is holding a launch event on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 4:45 p.m. at the Kamloops Art Gallery studios in the Civic Building at Fifth Avenue and Victoria Street.
Kids will get healthy snacks from Conscientious Catering and make a pinwheel while their mothers talk about air pollution and ensuring the community is a healthy one in the future.
The meeting will include a presentation of less than 10 minutes and the rest will be an open house involving discussions, questions and ideas. The topic of the proposed Ajax mine will be raised, but the group is founded on the belief that sound facts are needed to form sound opinions.
