The Valleyview bike path isn’t the only project that the City can’t get right.
Last year, Public Works presented three projects to council that came in 30 per cent over estimate.
In the real world, it is acceptable for a project to come within five per cent. Thirty per cent is unacceptable and indicates there is incompetence in budget estimates. This city has over $200 million of new real estate added to the tax roll every year. This amount must bring in over a million dollars worth of tax revenue. Why is it that the taxes go up every year?
Quit spending so much time and money on the wish list. Hire an outside professional management consulting firm to look at top heavy overpaid management of this City. Quit relying on Mr. David Trawin telling you how he has reorganized the managers to save money. It is about time taxes were held at bay. Even better — how about a decrease?
How long do you think people on fixed incomes can sustain these constant increases?
