LNG hopes based on poor practice

Last week, I watched a program on CBC dealing with the environmental dangers caused by fracking for natural gas.

These dangers include using huge amounts of water, which is polluted by adding chemicals, then forced underground to release the gas.

When recovered, the water is then dispersed back into the lakes and rivers. The process also results in polluted air, which affects the health of people living in the overall area.

Our premier is in favour of exporting LNG and is promoting a plant to manufacture it on the West Coast. Is she aware that a fair portion of the gas used will be supplied by fracking operations?

I suggest that these operations are far more dangerous to the environment than the Northern Gateway Pipeline would ever be. It would be nice to hear what Environment Minister Terry Lake has to say about this.
