I have just picked up my 11-year-old daughter from a two-night, three-day field trip to McQueen Lake with her class. She is full of excitement telling me about all the fun, educational and memory-making activities she was engaged in up there.
I am not surprised, as her older sister was a part of this when she was that age. This is entirely thanks to the teachers at their school (Aberdeen elementary) who give of their time and expertise to make this possible — not only during the trip, but in all the preparation time, planning and follow-up.
Thank you to Steve Powrie and Tracy Clarke for the time you put into your classes (we know it is so much more than just this trip) and also a big thank-you to the parents who volunteered to go help.
Any teacher taking on a trip of this nature has gone above and beyond. Make sure you parents thank your teachers, too!
