Grants aim to help young people with community projects

United Way will present $12,500 in funding to Youth Initiative Grant recipients during a ceremony in the Kamloops Art Gallery from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Eleven recipients will receive a grant of $1,500 or less to complete a volunteer project in their community this year. Recipients aged 7 to 25 represent Kamloops, Williams Lake, Merritt, Clearwater, Cache Creek, Logan Lake and Pinantan Lake.

The awards are made in partnership with Telus and Interior Savings.
