Fifteen employees who worked at Kamloops Pulp when it was operated by Weyerhaeuser Co. are suing the company in B.C. Supreme Court, claiming lost benefits.
Employees who were at the pulp mill in 2007, when ownership was transferred to Domtar Corp., are claiming the same contractual benefits were not continued under the new operator.
Those benefits include a five per cent match to a group RSP, an investment growth plan and flexible plan account. The employees claim the Weyerhaeuser defined benefit pension plan values have suffered as a result.
The employees are claiming damages and costs as well as interest.
