Noisy would-be thief takes off when confronted

Repeated door-bell ringing and a loud bang coming from the garage alerted a Mesa Estates resident Wednesday evening that something was amiss.

It turns out a man had forced his way into the home's attached garage and moved on to the mud room.

    Once confronted, he fled.

Kamloops Mounties converged on the area at about 8 p.m. with patrol cars and a tracking dog, but couldn't find him.

Police are looking for a white male, 20 to 30 years old, medium build, six feet to six feet four inches tall, wearing a brown checkered jacket and a tan fisherman-style hat.

Call Kamloops RCMP or Crime Stoppers if you have information.
