City Briefs: Homes wanted for older kittens

It's not easy being a kitten — eat, sleep, play, purr, sleep, play some more, cuddle. It's even harder when you don't have a permanent home. The Kamloops and District Humane Society has some kittens, 14 to 20 weeks old, in need of people who will keep them and love them for the rest of their lives. You can meet these loving pets — all are neutered or spayed, vet checked and tattooed — at the Sahali Total Pet store, 1370 Summit Dr., Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.

    Discrimination ends here

The International Day to End Racial Discrimination occurs on Thursday, March 21 this year. In Kamloops, people with this goal in mind will gather at the Spirit Square on MacKenzie Avenue at 10 a.m. They will walk together, some with flags or other decorations, then congregate at the Kamloops Immigrant Services office, 448 Tranquille Rd., for hot dogs and entertainment until 3 p.m. With that said, people who can bring food or entertain are asked to call Amy Verhey at the agency at 778-470-6101. There's free parking available next to the KIS office.
