I am glad that in the next few weeks we will finally be able to see the NDP's platform. I am especially looking forward to their environmental platform.
I still have a hard time that our local NDP candidates can speak out on oil pipelines and protecting the coast line as well as speaking out supporting a ban on pesticides to protect our health. However, they still remain silent on the proposed mine. How do its potential impacts warrant silence yet they can be so vocal on pesticides and whale populations?
My guess is because whales and flowers don't vote. I truly wish that a party, any party that wants to represent a community would actually listen and speak for that community instead of following the party’s leader and only speak when they are allowed. For why should we elect anyone if they will only speak to us and never for us?
