    Re: Fixed Election Dates Cause Problems Too (We Say, The Daily News, March 8).

    So, someone in their infinite political wisdom (or manipulation) decided fixed election dates would improve low voter turnout.

    In 2005, I think, a Daily News editorial mentioned three “fundamental concerns” of the voting process: low voter turnout, votes that do not count and outcomes that do not reflect voter preferences.

    You made a correct analysis in 2005, yet since then, the level of analytical obfuscation, from truth to truthiness, never ceases to amaze.

    What turns off voters is votes that do not count and outcomes that do not reflect voter preferences. Maybe elections would again mean something to voters if elections truly reflected voter preferences, with voters feeling their vote actually elected someone.

    The inconvenient truth for the political establishment is the solution to our electoral issues is reform of the electoral system.

    The way we are doing politics is killing politics.
