The Westwold Hall will soon be more energy efficient.
The TNRD has approved up to $20,000 to be used for infrastructure upgrades at the hall, money that will be used to purchase energy-efficient doors and windows.
The money comes from the Federal Gas Tax Fund, which provides financial support for municipal infrastructure upgrades that contribute to cleaner air, cleaner water and reduced greenhouse gas.
And though the hall is operated by a non-government organization, the Westwold Community Association, it is eligible for the funding as long as it abides by the terms of the Gas Tax Agreement.
To date the TNRD has approved more than $2.9 million in funding from the tax fund to go towards 72 different projects.
