Think you’re good at burpees, deadlifts, box jumps and kettle bell swings?
Find out just how good Saturday and Sunday during the annual Sweat-Fest competition at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Hosted by the Natural Strength CrossFit gym, the event challenges teams and individuals to feats of speed, strength, power, endurance and stamina.
It’s also an opportunity to win prizes and — most importantly — bragging rights.
The CrossFit craze began in the U.S. a little over a decade ago and has since spread to several thousand affiliated gyms across Canada and throughout the world.
The strength and conditioning program consists of bodyweight exercises, weightlifting and a huge variety of high-intensity drills that combine cardio and power challenges to steadily increase an individual’s physical capabilities and fitness level.
Competitions are held regularly, bringing people from regional affiliated gyms together to test their skills and endurance.
Sweat-Fest also invites locals who may not be affiliated with a gym to test their mettle against CrossFit members.
