Police and firefighters scoured the Thompson River Monday afternoon for a missing man who may have gone into the water.
As of Tuesday morning, the 87-year-old man's car was no longer in a parking lot near the tennis courts at Riverside Park.
Early in the search, a Kamloops Fire Rescue boat roared up and down the shoreline. At about 2:30 p.m., a Kamloops RCMP officer arrived with a police dog to sniff out bushes and beach.
An RCMP helicopter was also scheduled to join the hunt.
While the search focused on the river, the man could be anywhere, police said.
