It was bad enough that one of his trucks was stolen, but Brent Bylsma fears his company's reputation may have been stolen along with it.
He said typical calls to Culture Care Landscaping Tuesday afternoon went like this: "You have a nutcase employee."
The truck was taken from the 700-block of Saint Paul Street as an employee worked at the side of the house.
"She went to go for lunch and there was no truck there," maintenance manager Kerrie Fediuk said.
At various points as police hunted for the vehicle, the thief crossed double-solid lines, ran red lights and stopped to trying stealing from another truck.
As of Wednesday morning, the truck had not been recovered.
Along with the truck, a trailer was stolen. Fediuk found it in the 600-block of Nicola Street with everything in it.
About 10 minutes later, the thief returned to the work site, she said.
"He drove by the house and looked my employee in the eye."
Culture Care administrator Bonnie Bylsma sent an email apologizing for the incident: "One of our company trucks was stolen and the person who did it terrorized the streets of Kamloops."
