Defenceman Brendon Nash of Kamloops has signed on with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack.
Nash, who is preparing for his third professional season, played with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, San Antonio Rampage and Charlotte Checkers last season. He had 11 points, including five goals, in 27 games with the Rampage after being traded by the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens to the Florida Panthers, the Rampage’s parent club. On April 10, Florida reassigned Nash to the Checkers.
On the season, he had 19 points in 54 AHL games.
Nash, who played four seasons at Cornell University, sat out 2011-12 due to injury.

Kamryn Cannings picked up three top-20 finishes at the B.C. Summer Swim Association championships in Coquitlam on the weekend.
Cannings, one of eight Kamloops Summer Swim Club members to compete in Coquitlam, was 10th in the Division 1 Girls 50-metre butterfly, finishing in 47.14 seconds. She also was 17th in the 50m freestyle, in 45.77, and 18th in the 100m individual medley, touching the wall in 1:55.87.
Kaycee Cannings, also in the Division 1 Girls event, took 13th in the 100m freestyle, her time 1:36.81, and completed the 50m backstroke in 54.50 to take 19th.
Alexia Stone was 10th in the Division 4 Girls 50m freestyle, touching in 30.33. Cassia Warren, in the Division 7 Girls, was 10th in 100m backstroke, in 1:19.42, and 15th in the 100m freestyle, in 1:10.36.
Four girls — Kara Branchflower, Keeley Cannings, Raina McEachern-Toombs and Katey Robins — teamed up to take 13th in the Division 3 medley relay.

Gill Yaron and Jill Neufeld scored to lead Duffy’s Pub to a 2-1 Kamloops Women’s Soccer League Recreational victory over Kelly O’Bryan’s on Monday.

Also on Monday, Lindsay Larson had two goals as the Columbia Manulife Ice topped Loric Construction 4-2.
Jess Oldenburger and Audreen Webb had the Ice’s other goals. Cynthia Nowoczin and Kristen Gammel scored for Loric.
In another Monday game, Jordi Studer had two goals and Karra Wiedeck also tallied as the HUB Capz defeated Earl’s, 3-1. Further information was unavailable.

The Kamloops Broncos will be holding an NRI Distribution/Kamloops Food Bank game night on Saturday.
Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item for donation will get into Saturday’s B.C. Football Conference game against the Vancouver Island Raiders for $5. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m., at Hillside Stadium.
There will be a punt, pass and kick competition between NRI staff and management, which was a big hit last year.
