I have to say, the desecration of the trees downtown is simply not working for me (The Daily News, Aug. 17). Please don’t tell me that a committee actually OK’d this horror show!
One like-minded citizen thought this disaster might have been the work of a delusional homeless person or the oeuvre of a “crazy cat lady,” armed with an endless supply of yarn.
A well-used tea-pot could enjoy a second life with a crocheted tea-cozy, but trees look fine with their own natural cover, no matter how old. You might say that age builds character.
Perhaps the next attempt to beautify our downtown area might be to start by consulting with a few people who have more than a clue about esthetics.
Then maybe we could install a few pieces of welded rusty iron . . . like Picasso’s “Horse” in Chicago.
