Adventurous, social and a foodie? An upcoming event touches on all three qualities.
The latest trend in epicurean fun is coming to Kamloops after starting up in California in 2009 and spreading across the U.S. as well as Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
Dishcrawl is an entertainment concept that connects locals to several restaurants and dozens of strangers during one whirlwind night — think speed dating for the gourmet set.
“We’re re-imagining with the way people think about food and drink in their community,” says Tracy Lee, founder of Dishcrawl. “This is a great way for neighbours to get out and interact with the local businesses.”
Four mystery restaurants in downtown Kamloops will be explored on Sept. 18 for a $60 fee. At each restaurant, chefs prepare three of their most popular dishes for tasting.
Participating eateries will be kept secret until 48 hours before the event. But hints are posted on the dishcrawl.com website and on the Twitter feed @DishcrawlKam.
