Derek Yachison of the Kamloops Broncos has been named the offensive player of the week for the B.C. Football Conference.
The receiver had six catches for 151 yards in the Broncos’ 37-27 loss to the visiting Vancouver Island Raiders on Saturday.
Yachison now has 18 catches for 331 yards and three touchdowns this season. He leads the Broncos in receiving yards.
The Broncos have the week off, before returning to the field on Sept. 7 against the Valley Huskers in Chilliwack.
The Raiders took the other two player-of-the-week awards — lineman Ash Gayat was named defensive player of the week, while kicker Ryan Jones was special teams player of the week.

Rob Piva scored three straight goals as RCC FC scraped out a 4-4 draw with Duffy’s Pub on Wednesday in a Kamloops Recreational Soccer League 45-plus game.
Duffy’s was ahead 3-1 in the second half, before Piva exploded for three goals to give RCC a 4-3 lead. Dan Booker’s second of the game tied things up for Duffy’s and the game ended up 4-4.
Steve Murphy also scored for RCC, which had Martin Thompson in goal. Pete Grinberg and Dale Sankey were in goal for Duffy’s, whose other goals came from Rob Purdy and Bill Frymire.

* Kamcon defeated Frick and Frack, 3-1. Craig Galbraith, Todd Wiseman and Didier Toutain scored for Kamcon, with Bill Bilton replying for Frick and Frack.
* B.C. Rivers Consulting and NRI Distribution played to a scoreless draw.
