Wednesday is the last day to get tickets to celebrate corporate good deeds in Kamloops.
The CRS Olympics started in spring with 17 teams from a range of companies and organizations — or even groups of friends — doing random acts of kindness around Kamloops.
September Kuromi, whose company Social Fire is organizing the grand finale called a FUNRaiser, said Tuesday the celebration includes dinner and music at the rooftop terrace of Hotel 540 on Saturday from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
The event marks the end of the CRS Olympics, but is also open to friends and family of participants who want to attend and celebrate with them.
“Since May, we’ve had them do all kinds of random acts of kindness. We have a leader board, just encouraging competition and highlight what’s been going on in the community,” she said.
“We have 17 teams, just over 100 participants. . . . We’re really about making it a better community.”
From bake sales to donating blood to helping with cattle branding to working at a camp for child burn victims, the participants in the event weren’t short on ideas of how they could make a difference.
“The main goal is to show people how easy it is to get involved,” said Kuromi.
The cost of tickets is $25 and includes dinner and the Blues Jumpers band. There is a cash bar.
Tickets can be obtained by calling Kuromi at 250-319-9470 or go online to www.socialfire.ca.
