Four weeks has been set aside to continue the trial of a man on charges of dangerous driving and impaired driving causing death.
The Crown alleges Wayne Fedan was impaired and driving recklessly when he rolled his pickup in March 2010, killing Brittany Plotnikoff, 20, and boyfriend Kenneth Craigdallie, 38.
The trial began in July, with a voire dire (trial with a trial) to determine whether Fedan’s admission to a Mountie that he was driving the truck was admissible in court. Fedan was not given standard Charter warnings before his confession.
While the judge ruled Fedan’s admission to police cannot be used against him in court, she said there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial against Fedan.
