I just received a letter from B.C. Hydro threatening to cut off my power if I do not accept a rate increase of $35 per month if I opt to keep my analogue meter.
Also, if I do not respond to the letter the fee will be added to my monthly payment. This should be called a no-choice program.
I have heard about a class-action lawsuit filed against B.C. Hydro and hope the Liberal
government does not support the company, but since we are low in numbers, it probably will.
B.C. Hydro told people who want an old meter reinstalled that it does not have any. But in the letter to me, B.C. Hydro stated that if I accept the offer and my old meter breaks, it would be replaced.
This is all about money, cutting jobs and increasing revenue.
