An educational open house put on by a national mining association opens its doors to the public on Sunday.
Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum is a technical society with 14,000 members nationwide.
The open house is intended to showcase the industry and careers. An estimated 145,000 jobs are expected to come available in every aspect of the industry, from exploration to reclamation, by 2023.
On Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m. at Calvary Temple, the event is open to the public. On Monday and Tuesday, it will open its doors to local schools.
