Harvest time is here, so time is ripe for a scarecrow-making contest.
Kamloops Farmers Market invites individuals or groups — including schools, businesses and youths — to take part. They’re urged to be creative and choose a theme that reflects their identity.
Entries will be judged at the Wednesday, Oct. 2, Farmers Market on the 400 block of Victoria Street. Judging takes place at 1 p.m. and prizes will be awarded for best entries. Be sure to attach a name and phone number for daytime contact.
The scarecrow must be free-standing or mounted on a stable surface. Entries can be retrieved between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Participants are asked to pre-register by emailing Wednesdaymanager@kamloopsfarmersmarket.com or by contacting the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association at 250-372-3242 or through its website, kcbia.com.
There is no entry fee.
