I recently underwent surgery for cancer at Royal Inland Hospital. From the time the cancer was detected, I went through a number of various tests including an MRI. Our family doctor is great and has been there all the way. Although he was not involved in the surgery he kept abreast of what was happening, and has been a sounding board for my wife and myself.
The oncologist surgeon who performed my surgery is a great young man who stepped us through what was about to take place. He took his time to answer every question in a language the average person could understand. This included drawing pictures on scrap paper in his office.
A date was set for the surgery and all indications suggest it went as well as could be expected. The surgeon has a great bedside manner and sense of humour.
While in hospital I was attended to by the greatest group of nurses one would want to have looking after you or anyone you know.
This process took six weeks from start to finish which one might think is a bit slow however I/we believe this time frame was as efficient as one could hope for. Thanks again girls and guys and all who attended to my needs at RIH, doctors, nurses and hospital staff.
